Coolmax CUQ-1350B 1350W Power Supply ... has more power than you'll ever need.
INTRODUCTION Power demands for system builds are ever so exponentially increasing. These days configuration options such as Tri and Quad SLI exist, and mammoth power supplies are required to feed them. How many times have you seen frustrated users post stability issues in forums, only to be traced to inadequate power supply selection by said user? A quality 1000 Watt & above PSU is fast becoming the norm to insure future upgradability & stability, when assembling your new monster system. Today we will be looking at such a power supply, in the form of the Coolmax CUQ-1350B 1350W monster.
Before this review Coolmax was not a familiar name to me in the landscape that is the computer power supply market. However, after first glance, several features do stand out. The box lays claim to some very stout and unique features. Among them are super high up to 87% efficiency and a fan delay-off feature. This feature keeps the fans running for a short time after the unit powers off, to sufficiently cool down components and theoretically extend service life. They also offer some pretty decent cooling with an 80mm and 135mm fan combination.
Factor in four 12V rails, extremely high efficiency, gold plated terminals and almost completely sleeved cables in nylon mesh, this is one stacked unit feature wise. So let’s dig in and take a closer look.
